A very powerful and disturbing film. The torture policies set up by Rumsfeld with the encouragement and support of the Bush administration is appalling! We have become the very terrorists that we rail against. The inner struggles that the MPs went through in the face of the “orders” they received which went against their consciences and their personal morals was chilling. Even more chilling is that we train our troops to follow orders, no matter what, we teach them to demonize, hate and kill the prisoners because all of them are purported to be terrorists which most were not. The interviews with the now released torture victims was heartbreaking. What kinds of compensation and psychological help are they receiving from our government? How are they re-establishing their lives? Why have Rumsfeld, Miller, Sanchez, Cheney, Bush et al not been brought to justice concerning the horrible treatment of prisoners? How can it be true, after everything that has happened there, that even further use of torture is sanctioned when we know that people will admit to anything under torture. We are creating more terrorists by these policies. We are becoming the monsters. When troops come back home, how are they de-briefed, re-sensititized and recovered from the scars this experience has left on their pscyches?
